Fujian Theological Seminary held a foundation stone service and ceremony for its new campus supporting project.

According to CCC&TSPM, about 1,500 people attended the event on October 23, including church leaders, professionals, academics, and believers.

During the service, Rev. Shan Weixiang, vice president and general secretary of the China Christian Council (CCC), preached a sermon titled "Put Out Into Deep Water," referencing Luke 5:4.

In the ceremony, Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the National Committee of TSPM, emphasized the need to promote Christianity in the Chinese context, the strict governance of religions, and adhering to the principles of self-preaching, self-governing, and self-supporting.

Rev. Xu Yulan, chairman of Shanghai TSPM, hoped that the seminary would become a blessing for the nation, the people, the church, and the country, as well as contribute to the training of talents and a healthy inheritance of Christianity.

It is worth noting that Fujian Theological Seminary was founded by Fujian CC&TSPM in 1983 and is the first provincially run seminary in China after the reform and opening up in 1978.
