Rev. Jiang Xili, president of the National Council of YWCAs of China, was elected a member of the executive committee of the All-China Women's Federation.
Including Rev. Jiang, three Christian women delegates attended the 13th National Women's Congress held in Beijing from October 23 to 26.
Rev. Jiang stated, "It is my great honor and responsibility to participate in the 13th National Women's Congress and to be elected as an executive committee member of the All-China Women's Federation. In the future, I will work through the Women's Federation, the National Council of YWCAs of China, and the churches where I serve to increase the sense of gain, happiness, and security of more women believers."
"This event, which brought together outstanding women representatives from all walks of life from across the country, will encourage more women, including Christian women in China, to actively participate as 'builders of great causes and advocates of civilization' in the new era," said Rev. Dr. Lin Manhong, associate general secretary of the China Christian Council (CCC).
The general secretary of the National Council of YWCAs of China, Ms. Gui Xiaoxin, noted that in recent years the Chinese YWCA has paid special attention to the emerging needs of society, such as children's health education, women's empowerment, and family support for special groups. While continuing to provide its regular services, the Chinese YWCA would respond to the country's new requirements and policies on women and children's work, actively apply for All-China Women's Federation projects, introduce aesthetic education experts and full-time social workers, and promote the concept of project management.
