The Fifth Shanghai Foreign Language Worship Joint Conference was held, along with the Shanghai Foreign Religious Affairs Work Conference.
The event was conducted from December 12 to 13 in Songjiang District, said Shanghai CC&TSPM.
A leader of the Shanghai Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs stated that the joint conference, established for a decade now, has become an important platform for policy advocacy, communication, enhancing coordination, and fostering friendships.
During the event, Rev. Xu Yulan, chairman of the Shanghai committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), reviewed the progress of the international services in Shanghai over the past three years. Representatives and conveners of varied foreign language-speaking services expressed their acknowledgment of the challenges faced due to the pandemic. However, with assistance and care from government departments, they managed to overcome difficulties and anticipate a brighter future.
Officials from the bureau of ethnic and religious affairs presented insights into relevant laws and regulations, introducing the "Foreigners Tell Shanghai Religious Stories" project, which garnered interest among attendees.
