To bid farewell to the old year and usher in the new, churches and a meeting point in Suzhou, Jiangsu, conducted New Year’s Eve prayer meetings.
Apostle Church, Xiangcheng Church, and Qingjian Lake meeting point hosted crossover prayer meetings on the night of December 31, 2023, reported Suzhou Municipal CC&TSPM.
After the ice-breaker games, the meeting started amid hymns of praise at Apostle Church. Rev. Rui Tingting delivered a sermon themed “Press on to Take Hold for Continuous Progress,” exhorting the congregants to get closer to the Lord and be the light and salt for Him. The other three pastors prayed for blessings in the previous year and the coming year with gratitude.
When the clock struck zero, each believer blessed each other, singing to the glory of God.
In Xiangcheng Church, Rev. Kuai Mo reviewed the church's ministries in 2023 and anticipated the events in 2024 at the watch night service, encouraging attendees to participate.
After setting the New Year’s resolutions with the help of the pastoral staff, the congregants prayed for the church, believers, and themselves together during the meeting.
As the clock rang zero, all the present cheered and praised.
Following the hymns of praise in which the participants expressed their gratitude to God at the Qingjian Lake meeting point, Rev. Cao Yawen preached on "The Lord of Blessings," exhorting Christians to seek and trust in the Almighty, the Lord who rules all with blessings.
Subsequently, under the guidance of five staff workers, believers prayed to God for the country, church, ministries, and themselves.
