A church in Zhejiang Province announced its annual theme in 2024: Ignite Prayer Fire.
On January 1, the Centennial Church in Ningbo City announced, "March on, my soul; be strong!" The church’s newsletter issued the annual theme, “May we ignite the prayer fire in the urging of prayer in response to God’s wonderful will and enjoy His love. Let God use our lives and prayers in this era, and His will will be fulfilled. Believers, let’s ignite the fire of our prayers!”
According to its official website, the Centennial Church will perform morning prayer meetings both online and on-site simultaneously from Monday to Saturday and in person on Sunday in 2024. There will also be evening prayer meetings every Thursday.
Despite its name, this church was not built a hundred years ago. The Yincheng Pastoral District of the Zhejiang Diocese of the Chung Hua Sheng Kung Hui (or the Anglican-Episcopal Province of China) first finished construction of this church's current structure in May 1948 on Daliang Street. The purpose of the name "Centennial Church" was to commemorate the onset of preaching activities by two missionaries Colbald and Rusell of the Christian Missionary Society in 1848.
