Two churches in Guangdong and Shaanxi hosted worship services to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

On February 10, the first day of the lunar new year, Zion Church in Guangzhou conducted a worship service, in which Senior Pastor Yang Yongchun, delivered a sermon titled "Happy Lunar New Year" with an explanation for the meaning of the gospel, reported the church.

Pastors and church council members distributed the church’s exclusive Bible verse cards to believers, with wishes for wisdom, strength, and faith in the new year.

After the worship service, the staff of the church distributed dumplings on the spot. Believers greeted each other, wishing that others would have steadfast faith, happy families, and successful careers in the new year.

On the next day, Shilipu Church in Baoji, Shaanxi, held a Sunday service for the Spring Festival. Elder Pang Xianhua preached a sermon titled "A Blessed New Year From God," citing Numbers 6:24-26.

He said that the God of blessings makes his face shine upon, keeps, and is gracious to the people with peace.

Elder Pang shared that Jesus Christ became flesh and dwelt on earth, with the blessing of God's protection bestowed upon sinful persons. He gave people salvation freely and filled them with glory. God turned his face toward his people in their sins and, in Jesus, gave them unexpected peace.
