A church in Guizhou Province, Southwest China, held a sacred music improvement workshop to help the choir members master the fundamentals of music theory and enhance their hymn-of-praise-singing skills.
From August 23 to 24, Honghuagang Church and the TSPM of the Honghuagang District in Zunyi City co-hosted a training session on worship singing improvement, reported Guizhou Provincial CC&TSPM.
Teacher Zhu Shengjie from Guizhou Bible School was invited to give lectures, covering music theory, sharing experiences and techniques in sacred music singing, and providing practical training in the field.
Rev. Zhu Dayu, leader of Honghuagang Church, concluded that choir members must dedicate themselves first to ensure their worship delights God. He advised the attendees to avoid focusing on individual performances or self-promotion, instead emphasizing unity. He also encouraged them to sing with gratitude from the heart and to make the most of their singing ability.
