Guangzhou Church Recruits ‘Gen Z’ Choir

Zion Church in Guangzhou intends to establish a youth choir of Gen Z to revitalize the church's worship.

Guangzhou Zion Church announced that a sacred music training class for "post-00s" Christians will kick off in mid-October. Based on this initiative, the church plans to establish a new choir that adopts a more open perspective to explore evangelism methods and engage with the young generation.

The announcement outlines that the training will cover vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, and listening skills. Additionally, participants will learn about the characteristics and performance techniques of sacred music.

The training class features various experienced and professional instructors including Mr. Fang Yiming, director of the church’s sacred music department, director and piano teacher of the Piano Department of the Guangzhou Art School affiliated with Guangzhou University and council member of the China International Piano Education Association, and Ms. Gu Xin, council member of the Chorus Association of Guangdong and member of the China Chorus Association.
