Beijing CC&TSPM received a delegation from the national affairs programme for Hong Kong pastoral staff.
Chung Kin-kai, chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union, led the group of 45 people in visiting Chongwenmen Church in Beijing, said Beijing CC&TSPM.
During the meeting, Rev. Liu Cuimin, chairperson of the Beijing Christian Council and senior pastor of Chongwenmen Church, mentioned that over the years, the Christian communities in Beijing and Hong Kong have maintained friendly exchanges and interactions. She expressed hope that this exchange would further deepen mutual understanding and promote friendship between the two sides. Reverend Liu introduced the main work of the Beijing Christian Council since its recent leadership reelection and shared their recent explorations of promoting Christianity in the Chinese context. She also provided an overview of Chongwenmen Church, elaborating on their practical approaches to promoting the sinicization of Christianity by fostering the fusion of religious doctrines with Chinese culture.
Reverend Chung Kin-kai stated that this visit was part of the training program's curriculum. Through on-site learning, visitors gained a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture and reflected more deeply on the sinicization of Christianity. Reverend Chung expressed the hope to further strengthen theological exchanges with churches in mainland China in the future, inviting pastoral staff from Beijing CC&TSPM to visit Hong Kong at an appropriate time.
