On March 18, the China Christian Council and the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CCC&TSPM) issued a notice inviting submissions of original sacred music works reflecting the sinicization of Christianity.

Songs should be sung in Mandarin or local Chinese dialects to be used for Sunday services and church gatherings. Music with traditional styles should be provided with the staff, and the modern ones with numbered musical notation or staff and a demo piece.

This initiative aims to foster innovation and development in sacred music within the Chinese cultural context, promote the integration of Christian music with traditional Chinese culture, and enrich the expressions of Christian music in China.

The call for submissions will remain open long-term, and excellent works will be included in the Selected Hymns, a hymnal book regularly updated by CCC&TSPM. These works will be distributed and promoted in churches nationwide.
