On September 22 in Shanghai, China Christian Council (CCC) and the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM) convened the fourth joint enlarged meeting of chairpersons and presidents, along with a leadership group meeting on advancing the Sinicization of Christianity.
According to CCC&TSPM, the agenda included nominating candidates for additional deputy secretary-generals of the national TSPM, presenting the 2024–2025 work report of the current Standing Committee, reviewing the report on systematically promoting the Sinicization of Christianity and implementing the "Five-Year Work Plan for Deeply Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023–2027)," and approving the draft agenda for the third joint meeting of the Standing Committee.
The meeting also gathered feedback from Standing Committee members on the work of CCC&TSPM. Members expressed affirmation of the Council's efforts over the past two years, recognizing its leadership in promoting the Sinicization of Christianity, strengthening theological development, and standardizing pastoral management. Drawing on local experience, several members put forward suggestions, including further embedding the Three-Self principles, advancing the Sinicization of sacred music, cultivating professional talent, regulating online conduct, and improving the operations of specialized committees.
The Standing Committee members reached consensus that CCC&TSPM should continue to enhance guidance and support for grassroots churches to ensure the healthy inheritance of Christianity in China.
