On October 26, the Sunday before the Double Ninth Festival, a traditional Chinese festival honoring the elderly, Huxi Church in Shanghai held a special worship service for elderly believers. Reserved seating was arranged, and red flowers were presented to attendees aged 80 and above. A total of 94 elderly believers participated across the day's three services.
Rev. Zhang Aili, secretary general of Shanghai CC&TSPM, delivered a sermon titled "Rooted in Grace, Growing Stronger with Age," encouraging the elderly to remain steadfast in faith and anchored in God's grace despite advancing years.
Following the sermon, the congregation sang hymn 189, "Honor the Elderly," during which the reception team presented each senior attendee with a gift.
The service concluded with the church pastors joining the elderly believers for a group photo.
