Typhoon Mangkhut, reportedly China's most severe storm this year, slammed into Guangdong Province on Sunday.

Before the storm landed in the province, many churches in Guangdong reminded Christians to protect against the disaster and pay attention to safety when going out. Some churches and Christian WeChat accounts released prayer letters that may God watch over and guard affected areas and people.

Last Saturday, Shenzhen Shatoujiao Church reinforced the cross on its rooftop to avoid accidents. Other churches warned believers to be careful to decide whether they would to the church or not.

Guangzhou Church of Our Savior told its congregation that apart from the morning service held last Sunday, the three other services were canceled.

Henan Church opened its building and gathering halls to receive 67 metro construction workers affected by the typhoon.
