China’s northern Shanxi Province launched the first exam registration in 2023 for the Internet Religious Information Service license.

The United Front Work Department and the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau of Shanxi Province conducted a test for more than 240 people from local religious groups and religious gathering sites to censor online religious information  in Shanxi Institute of Socialism on April 6, according to the WeChat account of the SARA (China's State Administration for Religious Affairs).

This was the third test organized in the province since the Administrative Measures for Internet Religious Information Services came into effect on March 1, 2022.

Divided into two batches in the morning and the afternoon, testers underwent three closed-book tests with two invigilators, two inspectors, and security and medical personnel.

In the next stage, auditors who have passed the tests since last year will be organized to study Regulations on Religious Affairs, Regulations on Religious Affairs of Shanxi Province, and Administrative Measures for Internet Religious Information Services.
