Based on the best-selling and famous Chinese xianxia novel "Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms", the Chinese movie entitled "Once Upon A Time" is slated for a North American theatre release on August 11.
The movie will be released on mainland China's theatres on August 4 and it will be available for Mandarin, English and Chinese subtitles.
"Once Upon A Time" is a 3D fantasy romantic film produced by China's Alibaba Pictures and the rights to play it overseas was acquired by Well Go USA Entertainment.
"Once Upon A Time is as beautifully written as it is visually breathtaking," said Well Go USA president and CEO Doris Pfardrescher. "Fans have fallen in love with this story and now we couldn't be more excited to take audiences to the next level by bringing it to the big screen."
The movie was directed by Anthony LaMolinara and Zhao Xiaoding. It tells the story of Bai Qan (Liu Yifei), a goddess and monarch from the Heavenly Realms as she is sent to the earth to undergo a trial in order to become the High Goddess. There, she meets Ye Hua (Yang Yang), whom she falls in love and get married. Their love story ended and as worlds and years later, they met again but Bai Qan no longer have the memories of her lover. Ye Hua tries to win her again.
The movie stars Yang Yang, Yifei Liu , Yikuan Yan, Jin Luo and Chun Li. Watch the latest "Once Upon A Time" trailer below:
