Christians, Don’t Grumble, But Rejoice in the Lord

After contacting a Christian family who is a witness to Christ, one of my non-Christian friends told me that Christians were well-behaved and filled with positive energy.

I made a slight nod but felt discomfort in my heart.

I wonder how many percentages this kind of Christian family accounts for of all Christians? My answer is that such Christians take up only a small portion of people around me.

I knew a sister who was beautiful and talented, but she had a gigantic problem; grumbling. Other people didn't want to stay with her because they always heard her impressive complaints to the extent that they were affected by her after feeling nothing else but negative emotions.

Similarly, if we, the heralds of the gospel, bring negative emotions to the lives of others rather than positive energy, who would accept the gospel? Do people follow your Christ when they fail to feel changes in you?

Let's take a closer look at why Christians complain a lot. Though they don't complain about God, they grumble about what happens to them.

The main reason for their complaints lies in not believing God and not completely depending on Him.

The Israelites who experienced the plagues of Egypt and the miracle of Crossing the Red Sea forgot God's grace and made their necks stiff to grumble, ending up wandering in the wilderness.

Christians should not complain. What does the Bible teach us to do?

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

If you grumble about what occurred to you, you don't trust God's sovereignty over you. If you taste the Lord's grace, don't forget it or place complaints in the first place of your life.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

Christians should rejoice in the Lord in any environment or even in the face of persecutions.

A cheerful heart is important for your body, soul, and relationship with God. Cast off your anxiety and burdens and get away from complaints because we live in God's grace.
