Amity Foundation's International office got inaugurated recently in Geneva, Switzerland. The opening service was held on March 9, 2016.
At the service, Church leaders including World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, Rev. Martin Junge, General Secretary of Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and representatives from global philanthropy institutions attended it.
The opening marks the international development of the Amity ministry. Amity will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with civil society organizations in different countries, committed to promoting worldwide in the poor areas of production, improvement of living conditions for the peaceful development and make greater contributions to mankind.
The Amity explains that "It is significant that the Amity international office is lanched in Geneva. As the second largest city in Switzerland, Geneva is where international institutions around the world gather, such as UN Office at Geneva, World Health Organization, World Trade Organization. This city is famous for its solid humanitarianism, which accords with the institutional purpose of Amity and our sincere determination and responsibility to bear the international obligation of humanitarianism. Amity has close connection and cooperation with many European institutions like WCC, LWF, ACT Alliance and Globethics.net Foundation."
