Continuous floods caused by rainfalls stroke 1192 counties of 26 provinces, leaving 186 dead and 45 missing until Sunday, according to the State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

The floods have affected 3.282 million people and destroyed 56,000 homes with 1.48 million relocated, resulting in the total direct economic loss of 50.6 billion yuan, the headquarters adds.

In response to this, the social service department of CCC&TSPM published a prayer message for the floods via wechat, a hot social platform in China. The religious authority urges the churches and believers across the country to pay attention to the disaster and pray for the affected areas and victims as well as to let them recede.

It is said that the most heaviest rainfalls have attacked the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Jianghuai Region and the eastern part of China's southwest and caused severe floods to some parts.

More than one hundred rivers in Hunan, Hubei, Anhui, Guizhou, Henan, Jiangsu and Zhejing exceed the flood peaks.

A second flood peak is estimated on the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Poyang and Dongting lakes and the water level of Taihu will rise slowly.
