China Religious Magazine held a lecture on “Current State, Trends, and Reflections of Christianity in China.”

According to China's State Administration for Religious Affairs, the China Religious Magazine organized the second (of seven) "Houhai Religious Culture Lecture" on February 29.

Mr. Tang Xiaofeng, vice director at the Institute of World Religions of CASS and executive vice president and secretary-general of the Chinese Association of Religious Studies, was invited to deliver on the theme forum, “Current State, Trends, and Reflections of Christianity in China,” with the participation of all official staff of the magazine and some officials from the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the Religious Research Center, and the China Religious Culture Publisher. 

At the symposium, Mr. Tang mainly described the current status of Christianity in China in terms of the number of Chinese Christians, distribution area, and social influence, with a prediction on the trend of Christianity in China based on the development status of rural and urban Christianity, concluding that the pattern of Christianity in China is constantly evolving.

Mr. Liu Jin’guang, the publisher of the magazine, remarked that the lecture enhanced attendees’ understanding of the ongoing sinicization of Christianity efforts. He also urged the attending staff to integrate the insights gained into their work, particularly in religious news and public propaganda.
