Sixty-one clergy members from Protestant and Catholic churches attended a three-day training class in Changchun, China's northeastern Jilin Province.
From November 24 to 26, the training, under the supervision of the Changchun Bureau of Religious Affairs, including theoretical study and on-site teaching was organized by the Changchun CC&TSPM.
Government officials were invited to give lectures on the theory of "management measures for religious groups", "insist on Sinicization of religions" and "current Catholic and Protestant work".
At the Patriotic Education Base of Xiwu Road Church, in Nanguan District, Changchun, the students were moved by the patriotic deeds of Xu Tangqing. At the critical moment of the liberation of Changchun, Pastor Xu provided secretive members of the Chinese Communist Party with a venue for activities and sent intelligence to the Party, disregarding the safety of his family.
This was the first time that Changchun CC&TSPM undertook training courses for different religious groups. For running it well, they made a reception plan to arrange on-site teaching and prepare the place of accommodation and conference venues.
