The commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Bishop K. H. Ting’s death was held at his grave.
On November 22, 2012, Bishop Ting who served as president and chairman of CCC&TSPM and the chairman of the board of the Amity Foundation died in Nanjing, Jiangsu, at the age of 98.
On November 16, the pastoral staff of CCC&TSPM, Jiangsu Provincial CC&TSPM, and Nanjing Municipal CC&TSPM, representatives of faculty and students of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and Jiangsu Theological Seminary as well as Bishop Ting's family visited Ting’s tomb to remember the beloved Bishop K.H. Ting and pay respects to him, said CCC&TSPM.
In his memorial speech, Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of CCC&TSPM, said: "Bishop Ting (the late Chinese theologian and former Dean of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary) was an outstanding leader of Chinese Christianity and a well-known social activist, as well as a representative of Chinese religious community. He had been the leader of the Chinese church for a long time and put all his efforts into promoting the implementation of the policy of freedom of religious belief and guaranteeing citizens' right to freedom of religion. He had long served as the dean of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, dedicated to successors’ training and theological education. He initiated the establishment of the Amity Foundation to care about disadvantaged groups in society. He proposed the concept of Sinicization of Christianity, which pointed out the direction for us of how to run the Chinese church well”.
Rev. Wu Wei, president of China Christian Council, Rev. Gao Feng, president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, and Qiu Zhonghui, chairman of the Amity Foundation, also participated in the commemoration and laid flowers to Bishop Ting's grave.
