A church in Shaanxi celebrated Father’s Day.
On June 18, Shuguang Church in Baoji, Shaanxi, held a Sunday service with the theme of Father’s Day.
The choir’s performance preceded Sister Wang Lingling's narration on the origin of Father's Day, emphasizing the historical and practical significance of marking the occasion annually.
Centered on Luke 15:11–32, Sister Wang shared the parable of the prodigal son and based her message on the theme of “Mind the Concerns of the Father”. As per the biblical account, the younger son called for his share of his father’s estate and went away to a faraway land, but eventually repented and returned to his father. Moreover, Sister Wang highlighted the older son’s viewpoint, who complained and was infuriated at his father as if he were an employee, and the father’s response to him.
Believers were encouraged to reconcile with God and return to Him with pure hearts.
