Guizhou Bible School organized a series of events to commemorate its 30th anniversary.
Pastors from Guangdong, Yunnan, Chongqing, and Sichuan, along with nearly 300 participants, attended the celebratory gathering, which took place from July 5th to 7th, according to CCC&TSPM.
The previous day, on July 5th, an alumni exchange meeting was held. During the meeting, alumni engaged in discussions regarding pertinent topics such as "Effective Implementation of Theological Education in Guizhou" and "Deepening and Implementing the Localization of Christianity in Guizhou."
The subsequent day featured a service and ceremony in honor of the school's 30th anniversary. Following the screening of a promotional video honoring the 30th anniversary, Reverend Long Shangyong delivered a sermon on the subject of "Blessings." Rev. Yang Chaoyun, the principal, presented a report on the school's three-decade journey, while Rev. Yang Mingxiang, the president of the Guizhou Christian Council, awarded honorary certificates to exemplary alumni representatives.
During the proceedings, Pastor Fan Hongen, Chairman of the Guangdong Province TSPM, read a congratulatory letter from the National Committee of Christianity, acknowledging the accomplishments of Guizhou Bible School over the past 30 years and expressing hopes for the continuous nurturing of church leaders by the institution.
On the afternoon of the same day, a seminar focused on the practical aspects of localizing Christianity in Guizhou took place. In the evening, a theatrical performance was held to commemorate the 30th anniversary.
Concluding the events on the morning of July 7th, Dr. Wen Ge, the interim head of the Academic Affairs Office of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, delivered a special lecture on the sinicization of Christianity titled "The Theory of Fellowship Church and the Construction of Sinicized Churches from the Perspective of Universal Theology."
