The first phase of the elderly health promotion trainer training course concludes in Xiamen, Fujian.
According to Xiamen YMCA & YWCA, this training program was a joint charitable initiative between the Xiamen Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and Young Women's Christian Association (YMCA), in cooperation with Xiamen CC&TSPM at Dongbu Church in the city. Its aim was to train a group of professionals with specialized knowledge and skills to serve as instructors, ultimately supporting elderly care ministries in various churches throughout the city.
The training program consisted of a total of five sessions, starting on August 26 and concluding on October 21. Two sessions were held each month, each lasting six hours.
Having provided 168 training opportunities, they awarded certificates of completion to students during the conclusion ceremony on October 21. Trainees expressed that they not only learned practical skills and knowledge but also expanded their horizons. Additionally, the program had a positive impact on their physical and mental well-being and would help them organize senior fellowship activities in their churches.
In the next phase, Xiamen YWCA will continue to organize a series of activities for training instructors, including inviting the founder of the course from Taichung to give lectures in Xiamen. This is aimed at providing students with more practical knowledge and skills related to health promotion for the elderly.
