A celebration was held for the 30th anniversary of a village meeting point in Fujian Province, which started with only six worshippers.
During the event for the Xiabao Village gathering site in Meixian Town, Youxi County, Sanming City, Pastor Hua Ximei from Youxi County CC&TSPM preached a sermon titled "Waiting and Hoping," citing Luke 2:21–32. She emphasized God's faithfulness, encouraging attendees to rely on God's word instead of worrying and to wait patiently for God's will. She urged continuous prayer and praise, advising believers not to waver through unbelief but to be strengthened in their faith to glorify God.
The only people who lived in Xiabao Village, which now has more than a thousand residents, were Buddhists and followers of folk religions. In 1992, Chen Xing, a female believer from Puqian Church in Fuzhou, came to evangelize in the area. By March of the following year, she had established a meeting point with only six individuals. In 2016, Wu Yuzhu proposed the construction of a gathering site, receiving support from the government, CC&TSPMs at diverse levels, and churches in Fuzhou. By the end of 2017, a four-story building had a floor area of 700 square meters (0.173 acres). With nearly 50 churchgoers now, the gathering site also serves as a community hub for the elderly and children.
Rev. Zhou Han presided over the communion and offered a prayer of benediction, while ceramic cup sets were presented to attending believers in the end.
