CCC&TSPM conducted a work seminar in Jiangsu Province to uphold the spirit of the 11th National Chinese Christian Congress and further implement the "Outline of the Five-Year Work Plan for Deeply Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023–2027)."
According to the host, Rev. Xu Xiaohong, chairman of the National Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement (TSPM), presided over the opening ceremony in Kunshan City on April 17.
In his opening remark, Rev. Wu Wei, president of the China Christian Council (CCC), noted that the sinicization of Christianity is related to the healthy continuity of Christianity in China through a review of the past 70 years’ development of Christianity in the country. Christianity groups in China should uphold patriotism and faithfulness, promote the sinicization of Christianity, and carry out the construction of theological thought to better adapt to the socialist society, facilitating Christianity to be a progressive force in the advancement of the country and society, he highlighted. Rev. Wu also summarized the continuity and key points in the two "Outlines" (for 2023-2027 and 2018-2022, respectively) since 2017 with the anticipation that churches and seminaries across various provinces would inspire each other to further advance the implementation of the 'Outline' following the symposium.
Eleven co-workers from seven provinces (municipalities) across the country, as well as Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, Guangdong Union Theological Seminary, East China Theological Seminary, and Yanjing Theological Seminary, presented their respective situations and insights regarding the implementation of the "Outline," highlighting achievements and lessons learned throughout the process at the one-day seminar.
After the meeting, participants visited grassroots churches to conduct on-site research, aiming to further enhance exchanges and foster mutual learning.
