A dedication ceremony was held for a newly constructed church in Sichuan Province.
Accompanied by sacred music, 60 pastors from within and outside Sichuan, dressed in holy robes, slowly entered Lizhou Church in Guangyuan to celebrate its consecration on July 19, said CCC&TSPM.
It took five years to reconstruct the church, which accommodates 1,000 people for worship with a construction area of 11 mu (1.815 acres) and a floor area of 6,500 square meters (1.605 acres).
During the service, Rev. Chen Yilu, executive vice president of Nanjing Union Theological Seminary, preached a sermon titled "Longing for the House of the Lord," citing Psalms 84.
Chairman Rev. Sun Lianggang of Guangyuan TSPM presided over the dedication ceremony and presented a report on the construction work. Chairman Rev. Rao Jianhua of Sichuan TSPM gave an exhortation on promoting Christianity in the Chinese context and strict church governance.
During the praise meeting, Secretary-General Rev. Pu Jun of Mianyang TSPM gave a sermon titled "Being a Glorious Church," based on Ephesians 5:26-27, followed by hymns and dances.
