Urumqi CC&TSPM in Xinjiang held its 2024 mid-year work summary meeting.
A total of 105 pastors and deacons from across the city attended the meeting at Mingde Church on July 30, reported the municipal CC&TSPM.
Before the meeting, Pastor Wang Wenjun gave a sermon titled "Jesus is the Bread of Life" based on John 6:35, 41-51, reminding attendees to receive grace with faith in Jesus' invitation and to gain supply of life and the power to serve.
After the devotion, Pastor Zhang Shuzhi, vice chairman and vice president of Urumqi CC&TSPM, conveyed the key work arrangements for 2024 from CCC&TSPM. Pastor Li Qinfeng led the study of the "Resolution on Implementing the Outline of the Plan to Further Advance the Sinicization of Christianity."
Following the study, pastors in charge of diverse departments of the municipal CC&TSPM (including the Management Department, Writing Ministry, Social Services Department, and Liaison Department), as well as the director of the Amity Nursing Home, respectively, summarized their work for the first half of the year. Each department reported their work to the city's pastors and deacons and distributed written reports to each church.
During the meeting, reading the relevant regulations from the "Church Order of Protestant Churches in China" and the "Measures for the Recognition of Professional Qualifications of Christian Clergy in China," Rev. Cui Hebin announced the acceptance of Liu Jiesheng and Ren Guangwen, this year's seminary graduates, as clergy of Mingde Church. The two seminarians, respectively, reported on their studies at school.
Pastor Fan Chenguang, honorary chairman and honorary president of Urumqi CC&TSPM, reviewed the grace of the Lord over nearly 40 years across Xinjiang and Urumqi churches, from the first batch of five seminarians in 1986 to the present. Fan encouraged the two new missionaries to be good servants and shepherds, citing 2 Timothy 2:15 and 4:5.
Finally, Rev. Cui Hebin summarized the varied works of Urumqi CC&TSPM for the first half of the year with expectations. This work summary meeting also served as a work report for the new leadership team of the municipal CC&TSPM, marking their first year in office.
