To advance talent development in the Chinese church, the China Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement (CCC&TSPM) will continue to send young staff workers to study abroad after they pass related examinations.

CCC&TSPM issued a notice regarding exams for study abroad on October 8, specifying that applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree from a theological seminary with more than one year of work experience at a church, CCC&TSPM, or a theological school, reported CCC&TSPM. Registration is open from now until November 20.

"Applicants who intend to study in countries or regions where English is the medium of instruction must submit valid TOEFL or IELTS scores, either at the time of registration or by March 1, 2025. After passing the exam, they will be sent to English-speaking countries such as those in Europe or North America," the notice said.

"The Chinese church needs a large number of experts in biblical studies. CCC&TSPM will pay special attention to those church workers who pass the exam and are committed to pursuing degrees in Biblical studies," it continued.

Finally, the notice stated that the exam subjects include Christian theology, Chinese language, politics, and an interview. Written exams and interviews will be conducted on December 2 and 3 at the station of CCC&TSPM.
