The municipal CC&TSPM held a public welfare lecture on Tuesday at Chongyi Church in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

According to the organizer, Professor Qiu Zhe, associate dean of the Academy of Social Governance at Zhejiang University and director of its Charity Development Center, was invited to deliver the lecture. More than 80 people, including leaders of Hangzhou CC&TSPM, pastoral and administrative coworkers, and volunteer fellowship members from the city, attended it.

During the lecture on February 25, Rev. Zhang Zhongcheng, chairperson of Hangzhou Municipal TSPM and senior pastor of Chongyi Church, emphasized that public welfare and charity are important ways to practice the biblical teachings and exemplify the beauty of faith. He mentioned that Hangzhou churches and many believers have been engaged in charity, from visiting families in need to caring for needy groups in society; from organizing charity sales to raise funds and conducting free blood donation drives to carrying out various forms of volunteer services; from gathering epidemic prevention supplies to actively participating in epidemic prevention and control, to participating in Hangzhou Asian Games services, etc. He hopes that through this lecture, more people will be inspired to serve society with love and kindness.

Citing Philippians 2:4 and Hebrews 10:24, Professor Qiu delivered a sermon named "Grace and Good Deeds," encouraging the participants to care for the needs of others. She introduced the current situation of the projects "Good Deeds for Zhejiang," "One Old and One Young," "Special Groups," and the development of charity, and combined with vivid cases, emphasized that public welfare and charity should follow the path of a professional organization, large-scale resources, branded projects, sustainable and influential development, and come up with systematic solutions to help more people.

Three church workers each shared their insights, acknowledging that the lecture was clear, insightful, and beneficial. They also introduced the development of Chongyi Church’s deaf ministry.
