Last week, Trinity International Church in Kunming, Yunnan Province, held opening ceremonies for its newly launched instrumental music classes featuring the pipa (a traditional Chinese plucking musical instrument) and saxophone.

At the opening ceremonies on March 7 and 9, Rev. Shao Liliang, the senior pastor, shared four key expectations for the students. He encouraged them to respect their teachers and support one another, embrace challenges with diligence, find joy in learning while striving for success, and cultivate personal growth while honoring God.

In the pipa class, instructor Wei Yitong introduced students to the instrument's basic structure, proper playing posture, course requirements, and key considerations. She also performed two renowned pipa pieces.

Meanwhile, saxophone instructor Hou provided guidance on selecting the right instrument and introduced the course structure. He also showcased his skills by performing famous pieces by Kenny G on both the alto and soprano saxophones.

It was learned that the saxophone class will be held on Friday evenings, while the pipa class will take place on Sunday afternoons.
