On April 25, Shandong Theological Seminary held its annual spring sports meeting. The event was attended by over 200 participants, including leaders from the provincial CC&TSPM, as well as faculty and students.
During the opening ceremony, Rev. Dong Meiqin, president of the seminary, encouraged attendees to engage in regular physical exercise, emphasizing the importance of balancing faith with health to be physically equipped for their sacred calling. Rev. Gao Ming, president of the Provincial CC, called on teachers and students to nurture both body and spirit while fostering unity and growth within the community.
The sports meeting featured a variety of team activities, including tug-of-war, hula hoop relays, group jump rope, three-legged races, and radio gymnastics.
Established in 1987 by the Shandong Christian Council & Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee, Shandong Theological Seminary has developed from having no teachers, funding, classrooms, or textbooks into a fully accredited undergraduate institution since 2012. As of May 2024, it offered more than 60 courses taught by a team of full-time and part-time faculty, with an enrollment of over 220 students. To date, the seminary has cultivated more than 1,800 theological talents for churches across the province.
