From May 27 to 29, Fumen Church in Weihai City, Shandong Province, held a retreat and thanksgiving ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of its dedication.
According to Weihai CC&TSPM, a thanksgiving worship service, sacred music worship, anniversary celebration, and thanksgiving performance took place on May 29 to commemorate the milestone.
During the celebration, leaders from the municipal CC&TSPM and local government commended the contributions of Weihai CC&TSPM over the past two decades and expressed their expectations for continued service in the future.
Guest speaker Mr. Wang Guangqi, who was the architect for the church, offered his congratulations on the church's 20th anniversary. Based the design on John 10:7 and 9, he used "the door, the door of the sheep" as the central concept—a theme also reflecting in the church's Chinese name, which includes the character "men" (door).
Fumen Church, affiliated with the municipal CC&TSPM, occupies a site of 12,600 square meters. It consists of two buildings, including the main church building, which began construction in February 2004 and was dedicated on May 29, 2005. The four-story structure has a floor area of 5,400 square meters and can accommodate 2,500 congregants.
