Shanxi CC&TSPM Elects New Leadership

On June 17, the Eighth Shanxi Christian Representatives Conference convened in Taiyuan, bringing together 135 delegates from across the province.

According to Shanxi Provincial TSPM, the assembly approved the "Work Report of the Seventh Committee of Shanxi TSPM and the Fifth Committee of Shanxi CC," as well as the "Work Report of the First Board of Supervisors of Shanxi CC&TSPM." Attendees also revised and adopted the "Constitution of the Shanxi TSPM," the "Constitution of the Shanxi CC," and the "Church Order on the Protestant Churches in Shanxi Province." A new committee, a standing committee, a leadership team, and a board of supervisors were elected. Among them, Kang Jiesheng was appointed chairperson of Shanxi TSPM, Chen Chuanjiang was elected president of Shanxi CC, and Wang Suxia was named chairperson of the Board of Supervisors.

The conference emphasized strengthening theological education and prioritizing the cultivation of multi-level and diverse talents. It also called for continued efforts in social services, the promotion of friendly exchanges under the principle of independence and self-governance, and the effective communication of positive narratives about Christianity in Shanxi. Additionally, the conference underscored the importance of comprehensive and strict religious governance and advancing the sinicization of Christianity.
