The renowned Chinese Christian theologian and emeritus professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Milton Wan Wai-yiu, is undergoing treatment for leukemia in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and now has entered a critical post-treatment recovery phase with positive progress in his condition.

According to the latest updates, Dr. Milton Wan's recovery is progressing steadily following a bone marrow transplant. The medical team has confirmed that the newly transplanted bone marrow has successfully produced stable and optimal white blood cells, which are a crucial defense against infections. The growth of red blood cells and platelets is still under close monitoring. The medical team and those concerned for Dr. Milton Wan continue to closely observe how well his body accepts the transplanted bone marrow, hoping it will successfully generate healthy red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets without rejection.

In late June this year, Dr. Wan was admitted to the bone marrow transplant isolation ward at a specialized hospital in Hangzhou. He immediately began high-dose chemotherapy and successfully underwent the bone marrow transplant surgery approximately ten days later.

Dr. Milton Wan was granted his Ph.D. in philosophy from Oxford University, with studies in physics and philosophy. Before becoming a professor of systematic theology. He taught for many years at the Divinity School of Chung Chi College, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and has also lectured at several prestigious theological institutions.

Dr. Wan's treatment faced an urgent blood supply shortage earlier, prompting the Hangzhou Christian community to launch a "Life Relay" campaign calling for blood donations, which received widespread attention.

Despite positive signs in his recovery, many challenges remain in the rehabilitation process. Prayer requests include seeking God's grace and mercy for Dr. Wan and asking for strength and wisdom to be given to his wife, Renee, to cope with the physical and emotional stress of caring for him during this time.
