On August 21, Qingyun Church in Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province, held a thanksgiving ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding.

According to Guangdong Provincial CC&TSPM, following hymn performances by the church and nearby choirs, Rev. Cai Bosheng, president of the provincial CC, delivered a sermon titled "A Multitude of Testimonies." Drawing on the church's century-long history, he shared reflections on faith, recounted the church's perseverance through challenges, and encouraged it to continue fulfilling its mission in the new era.

Elder Chen Huazhao, chairperson of Yangjiang Municipal TSPM, also addressed the congregation, expressing gratitude and highlighting the church's legacy in three aspects: "Reflecting on 100 Years of Church Construction," "The Church During the Years of War," and "A Century of Thanksgiving."

The celebration included a stage play, "The Origin of a Century-Old Qingyun Road," which vividly portrayed the church's founding and development. Representatives from churches in neighboring cities also extended their congratulations on the centennial milestone.

Situated on Qingyun Road in Jiangcheng District, Qingyun Church traces its origins to 1917, when American Presbyterian missionary William Hervie Dobson founded Forman Memorial Hospital and began preaching in the city. The church itself was established in 1925. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Qingyun Church upheld the "Three-Self" principles to spread the gospel. Worship resumed in 1987, and a renovation costing nearly 2.5 million yuan was completed in 2020. Today, the church has seven full-time pastors and holds two Sunday services weekly, attended by around 400 congregants. It remains active in community service, caring for the elderly and needy and supporting impoverished families.
