The "Outline of the Five-Year Work Plan for Further Advancing the Sinicization of Christianity (2023-2027)" was launched.
On December 19, the 10th session of the Standing Committee of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement of the Protestant Churches in China and the sixth (joint) meeting of the eighth session of the Standing Committee of the China Christian Council were held in Beijing, attended by 84 members of the standing committees, said CCC&TSPM.
The "Outline" consists of five parts, outlining the overall requirements, target principles, major tasks, annual themes, and focal points of work for the next five years in advancing the sinicization of Christianity. "This will help churches nationwide to enhance their understanding of the sinicization of Christianity, accurately grasp its contemporary connotations, stimulate intrinsic motivation, and fulfill their primary responsibilities. They can adhere to the principle of developing Christianity in the Chinese context, and deepen, and refine the sinicization of Christianity, establishing a church in China that conforms to the socialist society."
The meeting also reviewed and approved the agenda and schedule draft of the 11th National Congress of Chinese Christianity and heard the financial report of the current session of CCC&TSPM.
Rev. Kan Baoping, vice chairman of TSPM, explained the modifications made to the "Constitution of the Chinese Christian Three-Self Patriotic Movement" and the "Constitution of the China Christian Council."
