The Women and Youth Ministry Committee of CCC&TSPM hosted the first plenary meeting in Hebei Province after the new leadership of CCC&TSPM was elected last December.
During the meeting conducted from July 3 to 5, Rev. Jin Yunpeng, chairman of Hebei TSPM and director of the committee, conveyed the spirit of the 2024 National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, reported CCC&TSPM. Rev. Lin Manhong, vice president and general secretary of the China Christian Council (CCC), conveyed the spirit of the meetings for the directors and deputy directors of the diverse specialized committees of the CCC&TSPM, leading attendees in studying the duties of the committee.
The participants discussed and approved the five-year work plan of the committee and its 2024 annual work plan, clarifying the research focus of the committee for the year.
Rev. Wu Wei, president of CCC, delivered a concluding speech, pointing out that women make up the majority of the Chinese church and that the youth represent its future. He continued that the work of the Women and Youth Ministry Committee is of great significance, as it concerns the majority of church members and the future of the Chinese church. He emphasized the need to fulfill responsibilities revolving around the core tasks of the CCC&TSPM.
After the meeting, the participants conducted on-site inspections of the office buildings of Hebei Provincial religious organizations, the exhibition room on the Sinicization of Christianity in Hebei, and the Gospel Church in Shijiazhuang.
