Eight places of assembly affiliated with TongZhou Church in Beijing have been officially designated as “temporary places for religious activities.”
At the meeting of gathering sites held by Tongzhou Church on October 30, Rev. Ma Zhi presented these approved sites with formal "Letters of Approval for the Establishment of Temporary Religious Activity Sites."
During the meeting, backbone believers of the meeting points studied the "Beijing Tongzhou Church Meeting Point Instructions" and the "Measures for the Financial Management of Beijing Tongzhou Church."
Dating back to 1979, Tongzhou Church originated with fellowship and worship in the home of a male believer. In 1987, the church acquired a small courtyard and building as a public place of worship, with a dedication service held on Christmas Eve. In 1994, Tongzhou Church secured 0.44 acres (2.7 mu) of property in Yangzhuang Village, Yongshun, Tongzhou, establishing a more permanent location for the congregation.
