A meeting point in China’s southeastern coastal Guangdong Province received a pennant for donating to a child with thalassemia.

The father of Zhang Weijie who is a 12-year-old boy with thalassemia, sent a pennant to a meeting point on October 13 in Daya Bay District, Huizhou City, to express their gratitude, according to Huizhou CC&TSPM.

In early September, an old grandmother came to Daya Bay Meeting Point for help since her grandson Zhang Weijie was a high-risk patient. As his sister's bone marrow was successfully matched, he urgently needed a bone marrow transplant. However, the cost of transplant treatment was as high as one million yuan, of which more than 500,000 yuan was at their own expense, with the treatment costs in the early stage exhausting all the family's savings.

Although the church administrative board couldn’t make the ends meet with high economic pressure, Rev. Cui Erli and representatives of the church council went to Zhang's house to donate 5,000 yuan on September 28.
