A church in Dongguan, Guangdong, received the Hong Kong Police Force Enoch Christian Fellowship.
A delegation of 39 members from the fellowship, including Rev. HUI Shuk-fun, from July 28th to 30th visited Gospel Church in Taiping, Dongguan, said Guangdong CC&TSPM. Both sides recalled their friendly cooperation before the pandemic and discussed the situation of Christianity in both Guangdong and Hong Kong during the pandemic.
During the exchange, Rev. Lu Hanqu, chairman of Dongguan TSPM, shared about the practice of contextualizing Christianity in the new era and the church's social service work. He expressed the desire to carry out mutual visits and enhance exchanges in aspects such as the sinicization of Christianity and the healthy inheritance of the church.
Rev. Xie Shufen from the Hong Kong Police Fellowship commended the healthy development and inheritance of the church in Dongguan and recognized the practice of contextualizing Christianity. In their brief visit, they also visited the Lin Zexu Memorial Hall in Humen, the Exhibition Hall of Taiping Handbag Factory, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Staff members from Gospel Church and the delegation under the direction of Rev. Xie Shufen discussed potential avenues for future collaboration between the two regions during the exchange. Rev. Xie also shared biblical messages titled "Be a Happy Person," "Be a Fisher of Men," and "Follow Jesus' Teachings," guiding believers to maintain joy and manage emotions through faith in adversity, serve the community with good behavior as a testament of faith, and integrate excellent Chinese traditional culture in sharing the gospel.
