Two cities in China’s northern Shandong Province established a special committee and held a seminar to promote the sinicization of Christianity.
The establishment ceremony of a special committee for developing Christianity in the Chinese context was held on March 16 at the station of Qingdao CC&TSPM, according to the municipal CC&TSPM.
The host, Rev. Gao Yongliang, president of the Qingdao Christian Council (CC), read out the working system and list of members of the Committee, introducing the arrangements for the four working groups of calligraphy and painting art, training and learning, ritual music, and theological research.
Jiao Xuxia, a member of the committee and a lecturer in the Chinese Department of the School of Literature and Journalism, Qingdao University, gave an exchange speech. She said that they should take advantage of the opportunity presented by the establishment of the special committee to give full play to its own advantages in the interpretation of Chinese classics and popular literature and better promote the sinicization of Christianity.
Weifang CC&TSPM and the Buddhist Association in Weifang jointly held a symposium on the interpretation of the sinicization of Christian and Buddhist classics in Weifang City at Qingzhi Church on March 14, according to Shandong CC&TSPM.
During the meeting, the organizer issued the Proceedings of the Symposium on Interpretation of Sinicization of Christian and Buddhist Classics in Weifang City.
